Marta Capossela
Director/Writer/Producer
Marta Capossela is a screenwriter and director with a PhD in Russian Literature, with a thesis on the formalist Viktor Shklovsky as a screenwriter. After that, she tought Russian language at the University of Salerno. She is also a literary translator (RU-EN) and she has studied at the Baltic Film, Media, and Arts School in Tallinn. Marta has lived and worked abroad in various locations, including Saint Petersburg, Siberia, Tbilisi, Tallinn, and Switzerland.
She co-wrote the short films “Ronzio” (2024) and “Piccoli Passi” (2024) and served as assistant director for “Viola” (2024). Marta was selected for the script development residencies “Sentiero Film Lab 2023” with her short film “Misure”, OfficineFareCinema Film Lab with the artistic direction of director Silvio Soldini, and “HerArts 2024” with her feature film project “FAME”, thanks the only grant held by the Campania Film Commission.
Her debut short film, “Misure” (2024), is the first installment of a trilogy exploring women’s bodies. She is actively developing the next two films in the trilogy: the short film “Through the Clouded Glass” and her first feature film, “FAME”. She was a pre-screener for Encounters Film Festival 2025.
