Melanie Silva
Director
Melanie is a Latinx woman and mother, born in São Paulo, Brazil. She moved to Philadelphia when she was six years old.
After graduating from Temple University, she moved to Mexico City, where she started her career as the special programs editor at MTV Latin America.
Throughout the years, she edited various reality shows, “Making Of the Videos,” “MTV Unplugged’s” as well as videos for the MTV Millennial Awards.
In her role as a producer, she worked with, animation studios, agencies, nonprofits and record labels creating content for brands such as Coca Cola, Corona Music, Bacardi, and Sony Music to name a few.
She also produced videos for higher education, PSAs, and for companies like Comcast, Verizon Media, and AOL. Her work has earned two Gold Addy Awards, as well as Telly Awards for various videos.
She is currently the co-founder of Afresh Collective, a production company focused on bringing together diverse talent, especially women from under-represented communities.
